Bandol with family for the day in summer

Are you in Bandol for the day with your tribe? Superb idea! So so that this day off with the family does not turn into a headache, here are our suggestions for a top-notch Bandolese getaway.

In order not to get lost along the way, here is a small list of notes so you don't forget anything. For this sunny day, you will need to bring the following equipment:

• Swimsuit
• Mask and tuba
• Walking shoes
• Hat or cap
• Baby carrier (stroller not recommended)
• Sunscreen
• Water

Every day in Bandol necessarily begins with a good breakfast! What we suggest is that you go to one of our Bandolese bakeries, pick up some treats (and a picnic for later), then head straight to the beach Renecros. Yes to the beach.

Believe us, there is nothing better than breakfast on the sand, when the heat is not yet there, with your feet in the water and your gaze on the horizon. Without obviously forgetting the little wolves who each time discover a sudden passion for wet and salty chocolate bread... But hey, it's the holidays, let yourself go and let them enjoy 😉

Once satisfied, gather your things, put on a cap or hat for the whole tribe, it's time to leave for the coastal path. From Renecros beach, you just have to get back on the road by taking the stairs located at the very end of the beach, next to the beautiful hotel Splendid.

Then continue on your left and simply follow the coast. You will pass right next to pretty pebble coves, like that of Capelan which notably inspired Mr Z for one of our Bandolese posters. Continue your way to the beach Engravers. From its end, on the other side of the pebbles, is the end of Bandol, the beginning of Saint-Cyr-sur-mer and above all, the first step into the Var coastal forest...

Spoiler: the hardest part is at the beginning. This big climb which starts from the beach will be the toughest of our walk. The only place where you may need to take a break along the way and possibly help the little ones move forward. That said, very often they surprise us more than we might think!

Fortunately, after the effort, comfort is always there! At the top of this path you will have gained a nice height and will then be able to admire our favorite landscape : a fabulous Var canopy, umbrella pines leaning towards the sea, and azure blue water as far as the eye can see.

After about 1 hours of market time, you will arrive at the cove of Port d'Alon, a very beautiful pebble beach. Sit back and enjoy a well-deserved break. Crab hunting for children and relaxing on the towel for parents, that’s also what holidays are: savor the moment!

That's where the picnic we told you about above comes in. Because after all, even though they are great researchers, it's not the poor little rock crabs that will satisfy your family. Take advantage of this cove to eat facing the sea.

🌞 Good to know : the sun is strong this season. Be sure to coat yourself and your tribe with sunscreen and put on a hat or cap. And if you need help choosing your sunscreen, follow our advice.

For the return, nothing could be simpler, just take the same path you took on the way out. Boring you might say? Absolutely not ! This coastal path is magical. Depending on the time of day, your position (facing Bandol or facing Saint-Cyr), the landscapes differ for our greatest pleasure.

Wouldn't it be snack time? And to satisfy all your desires, a wide choice is available to you: small tea Room full of good things, legendary Tropézienne pie or even a simple grenadine on the terrace of a café. But from experience, we prefer to warn you straight away, generally, these are the bandolais glaciers the big winners in the hearts of the little ones! There too you will have the choice between classic ice creams, Italian, sorbets or even local flavors (lavender, basil, anise, etc.).

Because the snack is also a good excuse to admire the landscape, why not sit on one of the benches that litter the quay? You will be able to enjoy your ice cream with a beautiful view of the Pointus and your children will have plenty of space to stretch their legs. Practical for exhausting them before the return trip!
