Come on, let's leave the organization of the week and the work problems behind us and go spend a great family weekend in Bandol. But what to do for 2 days? Abracadabra, here is your program!

day 1: walk on the coastal path between bandol and saint-cyr-sur-mer

For this first day with the tribe, we advise you to disconnect with an immediate immersion in nature. To do this, start by picking up a good picnic in one of the city's bakeries or of course the small daily market. Something to snack on at lunchtime with the kids.

Then, from the port of Bandol, head west, on the right when you are facing the boats. Walk along the coast and cross the large beach of Renecros. So, we prefer to tell you right away, there is a good chance that you and your children will want to stop there to make a splash. Well, good news, it’s definitely possible! Let's say it could be the first step in a long series of breaks...

Plage Renecros Bandol

Continue your way along the road, then the pebble coves, then finally the dirt roads. And it is from Engraviers beach let the adventure begin. From here, a climb awaits you to take you to the top of a pretty coastal forest. A way to gain a little height in order to better admire the clear waters of the sea just below. Don't panic, the entire trail is accessible to little ones. It's all just about paying attention to them.

After about 1 hour 30 minutes of walking, you finally arrive at your destination: the Calanque de Alon Harbor. Here is your favorite place for the day. Place the towels on the pebbles, take out the bucket, the landing net, the mask and the snorkel and off you go for an afternoon at the beach as we like it. To start with, of course, a good picnic!

🌞 Good to know : the sun is strong this season. So remember to cream the whole family regularly and protect yourself with the combination of sunglasses + hat or even UV top for the little ones.

Throughout the afternoon, enjoy a sunbathing session or a snorkelling session with the family. Sars, sea bream and wrasses adorn themselves with their bright clothes just for you. And for those who don't yet know how to swim well, the rocks are a superb crab hunting ground.

(I.e. Good to know : leaving a crab in a bucket of water in direct sunlight is like boiling it in an open pot! If your children are curious, they can admire our crustacean friends, pick them up to show you, then release them. For more eco-friendly actions on vacation, click here.

Around 15:30 p.m., start packing up to return to Bandol city center. I promise, the reward is worth the walk: a frozen snack with a view of the port. The children will love it… and the parents too!

👶 Trick : for parents of very young children, choose this hike early in the morning. You will be able to make the return trip in the morning and be back in the shade during the hottest hours (between noon and 14 p.m.). After the nap, you can come out around 16 p.m. for the ice cream break!

day 2: Provençal morning and afternoon discovery in Bandol

Sunday is lazy. Yes yes, especially after your sports day yesterday! This is why we are offering you a calmer day, dedicated to Epicureanism and discovery.

Our favorite place on Sunday morning in Bandol is the church square. From 10 a.m., you will understand what a real village in the South of France is: a small Provencal market with traders who praise the merits of their products, a café terrace where you can sit down for breakfast or GOOD enjoy some oysters of the shell right in front, the small fountain which flows just behind you and the church bells which remind you that lunch time is not so far away. We love it.

Precisely, for your midday meal, several options are available to you: grab something to eat at the market or in the small gourmet stalls on the square and snack on the terrace or go to one of the restaurants in town to taste the cuisine here. You choose.

🍅 Good to know : traders are playing the local card to the fullest. Toulouse cake to pick at, grilled octopus, zucchini flower fritters or even aioli, keep your eyes peeled for southern specialties on restaurant menus. And if you are looking for a fish for children to taste, opt for sea bream. Local and sweet, it has rocked many Sunday meals in our families.

After a good lunch, a short digestive walk is essential. We invite you to discover the history of Bandol through our historical route. To guide you, you can download the route just here or come and collect it in paper version directly from the tourist office. This will also be an opportunity to come and say hello!

This old-fashioned tour takes place throughout the city. On the ground you will find small silver markers. Each of them refers to a number present in the guide which itself refers to a significant event. So parents learn more about the history of Bandol and children have something to stretch their legs! And if fatigue sets in, you can always take a break on one of our beaches...

IT'S ALREADY OVER ?

The weekend with us therefore ends at the port of Bandol. We hope that you enjoyed this little family getaway and that it made you want to discover Bandol and its region even more.
