Monday: day on the island of Porquerolles

If you could only visit one island, it would be this one. Porquerolles is a true paradise, whatever the season, but even more so in summer! And the best thing is that you won't have to worry about traveling or parking, because a boat makes the direct connection between Bandol and this beautiful golden island of Hyères.

Start your island day with a 9 a.m. appointment at the boat. From our beautiful port of Bandol, a crossing of approximately 1 hour is planned. Once you arrive on the island, head first to the small tourist office to get a map of the surrounding area. Then, go straight to rent bikes, the best way to visit Porquerolles! Finally, don't hesitate to take a trip to the local bakery to buy a few sandwiches for a picnic.

???? Our tip : electric bikes are available for rental and the island is dotted with climbs of all kinds, this option can be wise for children. Yes, for children of course... Afterwards, if you also need to accompany them in electric mode, obviously, you will find the adult version. You have to know how to sacrifice yourself sometimes.

Tuesday: Provençal market and Bandol beach

Today it's market day. From around 8 a.m. to 13 p.m., the main platform transforms into an essential place to live. Between the magnificent colors of the region's tomatoes, the smell of basil, the Provençal patterns of the fabrics and the freshness of the freshly caught fish, you cannot miss this beautiful little market.

The afternoon is lazy ! It must be said that the first two days were sporty all the same, especially with children. For today, simply choose the beach that will accommodate the whole family. So, rather sand castle ou ricochets ?

Wednesday: Canet park and Zoa animal park

Start this day with a good breakfast! To do this, pick up some pastries in one of the town's bakeries, take a few games in your backpack (ball, rackets or other) and head towards the Canet park. This shady place halfway between the city center and the sea is a great place for the family. It is also here that the recreational center and the municipal crèche are located.

On the program: a whole wooded park for a giant game of hide and seek, a large flat area for practice football and even a few gym equipment so that parents can also let off steam. All in the shade of pine trees and in the fresh air. That is the demand of the people ?

In the afternoon, it's not in Bandol that it's happening, but in Sanary-sur-mer. Don't worry, you won't get far. Just outside of town is the ZOA animal and botanical park. A little gem where children and parents can discover animal species treated with love and respect, a superb collection of local plants without forgetting, of course, a games area with refreshment bar. Enough to spend a few fun hours with the family. Bonus: the staff is super nice!

Thursday: marine hike in Bandol

On Sunday, you were able to admire our beautiful coastal path from land, today you will discover it from the sea! Meet around 10 a.m. at Central Beach. Not for a tanning session, but to rent equipment from the famous Nautical Society of Bandol. Does a family kayaking day sound like something to you?

Embark on a marine hike like no other. When you enter the water, turn right and follow the entire coast. You will no doubt recognize the beaches you passed a few days before as well as familiar cliffs. A new way of seeing Bandol that we love offered!

From the city center, continue until you come across the submarine. You know, this rock with the eponymous shape. Right next to it is a small pebble cove where you can dock. The perfect place to lay out the towels and enjoy a well-deserved picnic. Allow 4 hours 30 minutes round trip for this aquatic hike. But I promise, it’s worth the detour!

Friday: visit to the Var hinterland

Bandol is the sea, the sun, the beaches and everything that goes with it, but not only that. Our Var territory offers us riches in terms of landscapes and villages of character. This is why we strongly advise you to visit 2 of them:

• La Cadière d'Azur : the typical Provençal village, where you can stroll through the colorful and narrow streets of the city center and admire the fields of vines and olive trees as far as the eye can see.
• Le Castellet : the ancient medieval city, completely pedestrianized today, a meeting place for local creators.
