Outing to Perpignan, Banyuls, Collioure, Cadaqués, Figueras and Elne

The Art et Découvertes association offers you a 4-day outing in Catalonia, on the France and Spain sides. It is a country which multiplies its charms, from the Pyrenean peaks to the long sandy beaches of the Mediterranean coast.

> 1st day: Perpignan

At the foot of the legendary Canigou massif, Perpignan, capital of Roussillon, is an essential tourist stopover in the south of France. The richness of its built heritage which tells more than 1000 years of history, makes it a true open-air museum.

The little train will allow us to discover the historic center of the city and its main monuments, notably the Cathedral and the Campo Santo, the Loge de Mer, the Castillet, the Allées Maillol, the palace of the kings of Majorca and many others . We will continue this tour on foot, after lunch, accompanied by a guide. The coach will then take us to the Azureva village club in Argeles-sur-mer, where we will have dinner and spend the 3 nights.

> 2nd day: Banyuls and Collioure

Morning: Banyuls, home of Maillol
Departure by small train for a circuit through the vineyards to the small chapel from where you will admire a magnificent panorama, then visit the cellars of the Domaine des Terres des Templiers and tasting. We will take the bus again to head towards Collioure where we will have lunch (typical Catalan cuisine) in an old Dominican cloister.

Afternoon: Collioure, pearl of the Côte Vermeil
We will go to Collioure to discover, with a guide, the artistic and cultural heritage of the city. We will visit, in particular, the ND des Anges church which figures prominently on all the postcards on the site. Surrounded on three sides by the sea, it was built from 1684 to 1691, using as a bell tower the beacon tower which formerly announced the position of the port by smoke during the day and fire at night.

> 3rd day: Spain
In the morning: we will explore the small port of Cadaqués where Dali had his house, transformed into a small museum in his memory. You can wander the streets at your leisure to find some souvenirs. (Ceramics, Catalan espadrilles). We will then take the bus back to Figueras where we will have lunch near the Dali Museum.

In the afternoon: free visit to the DALI Theater Museum, inaugurated in 1974, built on the remains of the old municipal theater destroyed at the end of the civil war. It contains within the Cupola, the remains of the painter. If we have some time, we can stop on the way back to do some shopping at La Junquera.

> 4th day: Elne

It is the former capital of Roussillon. Since ancient times, it has been a land of unparalleled historical wealth. We will visit the 11th century cathedral, a majestic vestige of the ancient episcopal city and the cloister which brings together a succession of medieval and Gothic sculptures in a luxuriant flowering of original themes. It will be time after lunch to think about the return.

It is with pleasure that we will return to Bandol after 4 days rich in memories and friendship.

Supplement: €60 for a single room for 3 nights.

Possibility of paying in 2 installments:
- €260 upon registration and €320 for the room alone;
- €270 to be paid before May 18, 2024.
