The Moulin de la Roque

Planted on more than 50% of the Moulin de la Roque plots, Mourvèdre is the characteristic grape variety of Bandol. This very demanding grape variety harmonizes wonderfully with the Bandolais terroir. It brings power and aging potential to our wines, as well as a wide range of aromas: black fruits, spices, prunes, liquorice, leather, garrigue, undergrowth.

Grenache is not afraid of arid climates and its upright shape allows it to withstand the mistral. It gives its best results in plots of hillsides, even dry and stony. Grenache wines are generous and express aromas of red and exotic fruits, spices and animal notes.

A variety of Provençal origin, Cinsault is demanding in terms of heat and is very resistant to drought. Well controlled, it gives our wines great elegance, fruitiness and roundness. It creates harmony between the rich alcohol content of Grenache and the tannic potential of Mourvèdre.

Planted on the Bandolais slopes, the old vines of Carignan produce colorful, full-bodied and powerful red wines which, after blending with the wines of Mourvèdre, are just waiting to age.

Our white wines come from Clairette, a typically southern grape variety, and Ugni-Blanc. While Clairette brings roundness and a great finesse of aroma (white flowers, honey, white or exotic fruits), Ugni-blanc gives our wines nervousness and balance.
