Our wines:
We produce BANDOL wines and Vins de Pays in three colors: Red, Rosé and White.
In Bandol, grape harvests are strictly manual, and harvesting machines are prohibited. However, at the Domaine, the Vins de Pays are also harvested by hand.
In Bandol, Mourvèdre is the king of grape varieties. This late-ripening grape variety, which is also known elsewhere as Balzac, Catalan, Espar, or Mataro, has found its preferred terroir in Bandol, because here on these classified lands, the particular geology and microclimate create an ecological niche where its strong personality flourishes. Once at optimum maturity, Mourvèdre, thanks to its rich tannins, provides extraordinary aging potential and an original and complex character.
Our Bandol Rouge contains 75 to 80% Mourvèdre depending on the vintage, and our Rosé 35 to 45%.
A wide range of Vin de Pays wines are produced at Domaine Lou Capelan. You can enjoy fruity wines with Vins de Pays du Var or drier wines with Vins de Pays du Mont Caume.
