In fine weather from Easter to All Saints' Day, Didier Ranc owns two pointus, traditional fishing vessels in the French Mediterranean, but it is on the Prince des Mers that he will take you off the coast of the Saint-Mandrier peninsula.

A fishing owner from father to son, Didier will show you the traditional techniques of net fishing. You'll also discover pot fishing, which he uses to catch conger eels, lobsters, and capons. Early in the morning, depending on the weather, you'll join him in a small group to set and haul in the nets and pots. Back at the port, Didier sells his fish to the fishmonger, the wholesaler, or some restaurants. But if you'd like to buy the day's catch, don't hesitate to ask: he'll sell it for you on the dock.
