The holidays are finally here and here you are in Bandol for a week in paradise. To make it easier for you, we have prepared some ideas for outings. A kind of itinerary, a roadmap, to enjoy your week and discover all that Bandol and its territory have to offer. Let's go ?

Saturday: discovery of bandol

Freshly arrived, take the morning to put down your things, resume a bit of the trip and start to disconnect. For lunch, we recommend one of our many Bandolais restaurants ! Between freshly caught and barely grilled fish, Mediterranean specialties or even snacks to take away, find the restaurants that meet your desires, click here.

The afternoon is a city discovery who is waiting for you. Stroll through the little colorful streets of downtown, admire the pretty points that adorn our main quay and learn more about the history of Bandol. For this, 2 options are available to you: you can follow our historical journey by clicking here, or visit us atthe Tourist Office to retrieve the small booklet, also available in downloading.

Sunday: walk on the coastal path between Bandol and Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer

On this beautiful sunny Sunday, why not take advantage of the mild temperatures to get started on the coastal path ? This route will allow you to follow the most beautiful beaches and coves from Bandol. It will also offer you a spectacular view of the Mediterranean and you will discover all the beauty of the Var flora and fauna. So obviously, who says magnificent trail says dedicated page. You can find all the details of your day by clicking here.

Monday: visit to the beautiful island of PORQUEROLLES

We know it, Porquerolles is not located in Bandol, but it still remains a treasure of our Var coastline that we would like to introduce to you. Luckily, a shuttle connects Bandol to this beautiful island several times a week (except in storms of course).

To start your island day, meet at 9 a.m. at the company's cruise ship Atlantis, on the Bandolean quay of honor. Embark on a 1-hour crossing punctuated by explanations and perhaps even if you are lucky, by an observation of marine fauna. Once there, pick up a map of the island from the small Tourist Office and go rent a bike to start exploring this gem.

???? Good to know : electric bikes are available for rental and the island is dotted with climbs of all kinds. If you are not a great sportsman we strongly advise you to take this option.

Let's go for a day between umbrella pines and fields of vines, between the blue of the sky and the sea. On site, heavenly beaches, wild landscapes and a small village await you. This piece of land lost in the Mediterranean also welcomes a splendid foundation of art where fun and unusual exhibitions take place every year.

Tuesday: Provençal market and wine estate

Tuesday, in Bandol, is day of Brive market ! From 8 a.m. to 13 p.m., a large market takes place along the entire quay. Present: local producers with their delicious, tasty and fragrant fruits and vegetables, ideal for planning a salad for lunch; Provençal artisans, butcher, roaster, fisherman and many others.

In the afternoon, direction the Bandol wine cellar, located at the end of the quay, opposite the gaming casino. There, the entire wine house team is waiting for you for advice and good humor. Learn more about the AOC, the wines that make up our terroir and the different wine estates. You will also be able to have information on the areas open for visits today.

In fact, we strongly advise you to go and visit one! To do this, take your car* and in less than 15 minutes drive, go to the area you have chosen. Go and meet the winegrowers, learn more about their passion, their ancestral techniques and take advantage of being there to bring back some good bottles with you. Pure liquid sunshine!

And for those of you who like to let yourself go, discover the formulas of Wine Tour or Provence Wine Adventure. Guided tours, tastings, meetings and sensations await you!

* If you take the road, don't drink! You can always taste the different grape varieties by spitting it out right after or savor them once you get home. Remember that alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health, and even more so when driving!

Wednesday: sanary market and pétanque

If you don't know the Sanary-sur-mer market, go take a look. Voted the most beautiful market in France in 2018, this typical Provençal market is a treat! More information on the market and how to get there by just clicking here.

The afternoon, after a good meal on the terrace, why not introduce yourself to bowling ? To do this, go and meet the bowlers at their HQ, the Chalet, located on the bowling alley next to the Tourist Office. Chat with them and learn more about this national sport.

The evening, come and challenge holidaymakers on the occasion of the Pétanque of the Office. In addition to the coveted title of Bandol Pétanque Champion, many gifts generously offered by the town's merchants await you. To know more, click here.

Thursday: discovery of the coastal path in Bandol by paddle

Last weekend you enjoyed a breathtaking Mediterranean landscape from land. Today we offer you the coastal path seen from the sea with a paddle day! Meet behind the André Deferrari stadium, located at the end of the quay, to rent your board and embark for an extraordinary day. Having done it several times, trust us, this marine trip is worth the detour. Enjoy the calm of the sea, far from the beaches, far from the crowds and completely disconnect from your daily life!

From the stadium, we advise you to follow the coast until a rock called the “submarine”. You won't be able to miss it, it really has the shape! On the side of the rock a small pebble cove awaits you to take a break away from prying eyes. Allow approximately 2 hours of outward paddle and 2 hours of return paddle. So yes, you will certainly have some aches the following days, but you absolutely will not regret this not-so-usual experience!

Friday: visit to the Var hinterland

The last day of vacation has arrived and you cannot leave without seeing our countryside. It's as beautiful as the coast, to tell you the truth.

We have selected for you 2 villages of character which are worth seeing: La Cadière d'Azur and Le Castellet. One is a typical Provençal village where you can stroll peacefully through the small streets full of charm and the other is an old medieval town full of local creators. What they have in common: a 360° view, where fields of vines and olive trees plunge into a turquoise sea. Pretty good, isn't it?

In the evening, come and say goodbye to us at the Office for a nicely named farewell drink « The Office Terrace ». On the program: aperitif, exchanges and quizzes with boutique products as the key. For more information, click here.
