The weekend of September 20 and 21, 2025, French heritage will be in the spotlight. For the occasion, history enthusiasts from Bandol and elsewhere are coming together to offer you special events. A way to go back in time to return to the roots of our beautiful territory.
The program for the 2025 European Heritage Days in Bandol
as an appetizer…
- Of the 16 23 September at the media library: “The Boyer Dynasty” exhibition created by Jean-Marie Schneider.
- Le Friday, September 19 from 16 p.m. to 18 p.m. at the media library: duo reading “Human heritage from the 19th to the 20th century”, according to Lucien Grillon, Charles Jaubert, Raymond Culioli and Francis Pieraccini. Reading by Martine Steffan and Françoise Gudet.
Saturday September 20, 2025
- De 9 p.m. to 15 p.m. at the Saint-François de Sales church: historical tour of the church by Alain Vignal, professor and doctor of history.
- De 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the media library: workshop/game/quiz “The Birth of Bandol” offered by Jean-Marie Schneider for adults and children from 9 years old.
- From 10:30 a.m. than the port quay: immediate boarding with the Pointus to discover the maritime heritage with the Pointus crew. Subject to favorable weather. Registration at 06 47 94 61 96 (places limited to 20 people).
- De 14 a.m. to 18 p.m. on the Allées Vivien bowling green: pétanque competition for children with parents, offered by the tourist office (weather permitting).
- De 14 a.m. to 15 p.m. at the Tholosan house (Pagnol room): conference “The plague in Provence”, by Michel Goury, archaeologist and historian.
- De 15 a.m. to 16 p.m. at the Tholosan house (Pagnol room): conference “Vernet’s painting of La Madrague”, by Jean-Marie Schneider, historian and writer.
- De 16 a.m. to 17 p.m. at the Tholosan house (Pagnol room): conference “The Illustrious Order of the Knights of Medusa”, by Pierre Lasserre, from the Var Academy.
- De 17 a.m. to 18 p.m. at the Tholosan house (Pagnol room): conference “The history of Bandol wine”, by Cédric Gravier, president of the AOC of Bandol wines.
Sunday, September 21, 2025
- De 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the tourist office: presentation of new historical clips (the bust of Alfred Vivien, the André Deferrari stadium, the villa Lumen by Louis Lumière, the Ravaisou gallery, the monastery, the station), by Jean-Marie Schneider.
- From 12 a.m. to 14 p.m. At the tourist office: tasting and presentation of Domaine de l'Estagnol wines, by a Bandol winemaker, Sandrine Féraud. Reservations required: 04 94 29 41 35.

The historical route of Bandol
The small streets and narrow staircases of Bandol hold secrets. Anecdotes and significant facts that have crossed the ages and that have made our city what it is today. To lift the mystery on all these treasures and to (re)discover our Bandol differently, a historical route has been put in place.
Thus, the tourist office, in collaboration with the Bandol historian Jean-Marie Schneider, have together produced several short films. Each of them takes place at a place important to the city's history. In them, Mr. Schneider passionately recounts both important events and celebrity anecdotes.
