What if, rather than throwing away the pens, we made urban furniture out of them? It was from this crazy idea that it all started...

Bic is committed

So basically, no street furniture, but an idea that still persisted: rather than throwing away your pens, you can simply recycle them. It's a small gesture for the planet that everyone can do to protect their environment.

One thing leading to another, the pens were recycled, then they became benches and these benches gradually took their place all over France. Thus, the simple pen that could no longer be used gets a second life. The story could have ended there, but that's not knowing Bic well.

1 family weekend to be won

That's how the idea of hunting Bic benches came about. 8 benches made of recycled Bic pens will hide in 8 towns across France all summer long. Because in addition to the recycling side of the operation, we wanted to make you travel.

Thus, in the company of these benches, you will be able, during all the summer holidays, to discover or re-discover of our natural heritage, explore the regions of France, admire the fauna and flora and at the same time tell ourselves that we can all do small things to preserve it.

La chasse aux bancs Bic

So, after having gone in search of the bench, after having discovered or rediscovered a region, we sit down on this bench made from 7800 recycled pens and we admire what surrounds us. The opportunity to immortalize the moment: take THE shot that might make you win a family weekend in the region of France of your choice.

The operation begins in France on June 25 and will end on September 17. And for your greatest pleasure, a Bic bench will take place in Bandol from July 23. So get your sneakers on, and let the hunt begin!

a bench like no other

You will tell us: looking for a bench in a city, even if it is made of recycled pens, is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Well not at all. Because each of the 8 benches had the chance to be customized by the talented Jonesie Studio to be put in the colors of each city.

In addition to the pure aesthetics which is sublime, each bench highlights elements of our environment which it is essential to preserve such as elements of the local fauna and flora to be preserved: vegetation, ocean, animals, birds... And it's not to brag, but ours rocks! The viaduct, the umbrella pines, the bougainvillea, the pointed trees… We find all our Bandol identity there.
