Everything is done on foot

Bandol is a small town. Everything is within a radius of a few kilometers, making it a dream destination for total disconnection. At the start of theTourist Office (Port of Bandol), here are some timed distances:

  • Bandol station: 15 minutes on foot;
  • Renecros Beach : 10 minutes on foot;
  • Downtown : 2 minutes on foot;
  • Casino bus stop: 5 minutes on foot;
  • Engraviers Beach (the most eccentric): approximately 30/40 minutes on foot.

With 320 days of sunshine per year and blue skies, Bandol is a seaside resort but not only that! Our Mediterranean climate and exceptional sunshine allow you to visit the city all year round.

Here are some ideas for activities to practice in any season:

You may not have known it, but Paul Ricard played a big role in economic development of the region. Yes, we are talking about the famous industrialist, distributor of the aniseed alcohol of the same name. This man, sometimes Mayor, artist, industrialist or even defender of nature, is part of our history.

In the 60s he notably became the owner of two beautiful islands: the Embiez and Bendor. One has become a sanctuary for coastal flora and fauna and the other, an arty landmark currently being rebuilt. His name is also affixed to the Circuit located a little higher inland. The latter has become over the years, the favorite place of beautiful events such as the Bol d'Or. So…

  • The beautiful market weekly : Tuesday morning, from 8 a.m. to 13 p.m., on the main quay;
  • The small market follow-up : from 8 a.m. to 13 p.m. on the Place de la Mairie;
  • The market nocturne : from July to September, from 19 p.m. to approximately midnight, on the main platform.

A fishing village

Originally, we are above all a fishing village. There was a time when we could spend entire afternoons watch the fishermen repair their nets on Harbour. Today, although the tradition is a little behind us, we are lucky to still have a few fishermen. They are also one of the main suppliers of our Bandolese restaurateurs.
